2024 Lew-Port Youth Football Tackle and Cheer Registration

2024 Tackle & Cheer Registration     

Registration closes on  JuNE 30, 2024, no exceptionS

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure all information is provided accurately.; additional NEYSA mandatory paperwork will be required in order to participate. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or ACH Bank Account information available; a payment plan through SportsEngine is available with last payment due June 30th.  Account must be paid in full before uniforms/equipment can be handed out. There are scholarships & need-based options available, please email LewPortYouthFootball@gmail.com for more information.  Depending on registration numbers and availability of coaching staff, a waitlist may be implemented for both football and/or cheer.   If you find that the registration says that spots are full, please email the above gmail address to be placed onto a waitlist.   Residency is not a requirement. 

 

For Boys and Girls ages 5-14 looking to develop their game, build friendships and have fun!

 

COST:  $250  for Cheer and Tackle (Squires, Knights, Rams, Chargers)

Varsity Spartans Cheer and Tackle Program (ages 12-14):   $150 

 

 LPYF does NOT issue refunds except on a case-by-case basis.   Cheerleaders that make the LP High School JV or Varsity squad can be issued refunds upon proof of them being accepted to the High School team (try-outs are after our Youth season has already started & we want to encourage all kids to participate in cheer).

 

Multi-child discount is available!   Full price for the 1st child.  $50 off the next registration.  Please register all of your kids at the same time & this discount will be automatically applied. 

 

 *****A $100 volunteer service fee is being initiated this season because we CANNOT make this awesome organization work for our kids without help from our LPYF community, parents, and family members. It is fully refundable once 4 hours of volunteer work have been completed. If you are concerned about this cost, please contact  LewPortYouthFootball@gmail.com  immediately. We have SEVERAL ways this can be met, including joining the Board now (a minimum of 2 year commitment is requested), assisting with obtaining sponsorships/baskets for our raffle, website design/social media, office help, etc. If you have a skill, we could use your help. If you have a medical background & have CPR training, we could use you for our medical staff after passing a background check & providing your certification. More traditional ways to earn your volunteer time is at football games on the sideline as chain-gang, announcers booth, volunteering at the spirit table or concessions booth.  We have an upcoming flag football tournament at Lew-Port June 8th & 9th that we need volunteers for...this can count towards your 2024 TACKLE or CHEER volunteer time! You can also send a representative (grandma, uncle, cousin, friend) to volunteer for you (just need to let us know in advance). Coaching & team parent also count towards this requirement.  The volunteer fee will be discounted at checkout for families with multiple athletes (it is per family not per child); be sure to register them at the SAME time in order for the discount to be applied automatically.
 

Schedule your Child's required sports physical TODAY! We need a copy of your child's physical exam by the first practice the last week of July. Most doctors are backed up a few months for physical appointments so make your appointments now.

 

NEW PLAYERS WILL NEED A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. PLEASE BRING TO THE FAMILY NIGHT  WITH ALL OTHER REQUIRED PAPERWORK.

Team Parent: Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Guardians all welcome!

Team parents are an important element in our successful football & cheer program. It involves taking attendance, basic care of the kids such as snacks, assisting with water bottles, helping with tying shoes/getting on uniforms, and notifying the Medical Team of any concerns you notice. For football it also involves counting plays during games. You must pass a background check in order to be on the field as a Team Parent (we pay for the background check.  If you're interested, kindly send an email to the above coordinator emails or speak to your child's head coach or a LPYF Board Member. After being approved you will receive a $100 refund on your child's registration.

IMPORTANT FOOTBALL INFORMATION

Football practices start  Monday July 29th , with games starting the last weekend of August and the season ending November 2nd & 3rd.  Football practices are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm at Richard F. Soluri Park.  Games are played at Blakeslee Field behind Lew-Port High School or at the opponent's field on Saturday or Sunday, with a possible Friday or Saturday night game, as determined by NEYSA (our governing agency).

There are no additional costs paid to LPYF.  You will be notified of equipment pickup dates.  Football players MUST have non-metal cleats, practice jersey (an XL t-shirt will work) and athletic supporter cup.   Registration includes: personalized game jersey to keep, a colored mouth guard, socks, trophy, player banquet ticket, and rental of uniform (helmet, shoulder pads, rib guard, practice pants, & game pants) to be returned at the end of the season in good condition or pay the cost of replacement of that item.   Registration includes referee fees, field usage fees and NEYSA fees.

 

IMPORTANT CHEER INFORMATION

Cheer practice starts the last week of July and will be held 2-4 days per week at Richard Soluri Park over the summer.  Once school starts practices reduce to 1-3 days per week. Practices will be held indoors during the fall after weather becomes colder (location TBD likely Lew-Port Gym).  Attendance is required for cheerleader safety (routines/lifts) and the head coach will determine participation based on attendance.  Attendance at the entire game is compulsory (cannot leave early). COMPETITIONS ARE MANDATORY.

Registration includes competition fees, music copyright, trophy, cheerleader banquet ticket, sneakers, socks, headband, & gloves, plus either girls' bow and rental of girls' full uniform (shell, body liner & skirt), or boys' uniform (includes shorts & wrist band (to keep) and rental of  top to be returned at the end of the season in good condition . 

Cheerleaders warmups  are optional but encouraged & will be available on the Stuart's online store when it opens. We will be sizing for uniforms & sneakers at Family Nights which will be held at our LPYF Red Brick School office in Lewiston.  Please notify cheercoordinator.lpyf@gmail.com  if you are unable to attend.

 

LPYF does NOT issue refunds.  Please ensure that you and your child are fully committed before registering.  Exception: Cheerleaders that make the LP High School JV or Varsity squad can be issued refunds upon proof of them being accepted to the High School team (try-outs are after our Youth season has already started & we want to encourage all kids to participate in cheer).

*Any 5-year-old who turns 6 before or on December 31st of the current year will be allowed to play on the Knights team. 5-Year-olds will be allowed to play on that team at the discretion of the Head Coach.  As not all 5-year-olds are the same, playing time will be a coach's decision and they are NOT subject to the 6-play minimum under Rule 7.18. 

**Age on July 1st for all ages except 14 years old.

***Players who turn 14 years old after April 1st of the current year will be allowed to play on Spartans.
